Vivaltes | Toxflow

Animation
Project Overview
Toxflow was a project about a scientific research for reducing animal-testing, by using small micro-worms that are technically not animals (on paper). With the help of this research they could reduce the testing on mouses, rabbits and other animals.
My Contributions
I was part of the animation department on this project; mainly focused on the motion design of almost all the shots and assets. That means that I was responsible for the overal look-and-feel for the animations of the video.

The Process
Anjay Korpelshoek
Junior Animator
This project was a lot of fun. Mainly because I've worked with a great team on this one. It's a project that I did at Public Cinema. Together with Kevin, we've made an awesome animation about a scientific research to reduce animal-testing. With also the help on the amazing frame-by-frame work by Sophie Breeveld, the making of the script and substancive overview from Thijs, and some animation-hours from Marije Dudink, I can proudly say that we've done a great job.

The interesting part about this project is the fact that we've implemented frame-by-frame assets throughout the animation on the organic illustrations, such as the mouse, worms and plants. Because of the limited time we've had, Sophie and I had to work at the same time. For example: I would work on the whole shot while Sophie was focussing on the F-B-F (Frame-By-Frame) of a mouse. To know how a shot would look like, I'd use a rough F-B-F-sketch from Sophie and layerd it into my composition. After Sophie was finished, I would just replace the sketch-footage and tween the scale/position/timing of that new asset.

Besides of helping me for some shots, Kevin would be making the finishing touches on the animations. Putting some extra effects and small details throughout the whole video.

Not to forget the wonderfull work of Jules, who made the animation come to life with his sounddesign-skills.
